Hope for AIDS Orphans,
here and after abbreviated as HOFA, is an independent non-profit indigenous
church-based charitable organization partnering with Abode International in UK
and many other personnel in the US. The organization was started in 2008 by Mr.
Sanon Muyaka, to try and stop the tide of orphaning in particular, and the
spread of HIV/AIDS in general. We
are a charity that has been going for two years now, and we are looking after a
group of orphaned children in Jinja, Uganda. Our team in Uganda is now
looking after 26 children of Christian and Muslim faiths.
The team is headed by Sanon Muyaka, and he has a volunteer cook, social worker,
hotel management graduate and a teacher, who offer their services every
day....and several others on an 'Ad hoc' basis. So the children are very well
cared for. We rent a building for them to live in, and feed, clothe and send
them to school. We are building completely new premises for them in neighboring
Buwenge, and this is where we need help as we need to finish it this year. The
building is with one and a half acres of land surrounding it. So when we
complete it we will grow food, be rent free and aim to be self-sufficient by
adding a few more money making ideas which we have in mind.
